The National Pensioners Convention

​
The Committee makes loans on welfare grounds on such terms or conditions as it sees fit.
Death Grant
​
This Grant is currently £2,000 and is normally payable of the death of the member or his or her spouse, whichever is the first to die. By arrangement with the administrator, it can be paid on the death of the second.

Convalescence
​
The Management committee will pay travelling and out of pocket expenses for members who attend the Rehabilitation centre for Convalescence [Flint House, Goring]

Medical Consultations
​
A grant or loan may be paid to enable a member, spouse or child under 18 years to enable them to seek private medical assistance where assistance is not reasonably readily available under the NHS. General Charitable Grants Charitable or compassion grants may be made at the discretion of the Management Committee. Currently grants up to £350 are made without detailed financial information being provided by the applicant. Applications in excess of this amount will not be granted without detailed financial information and such application will almost always be supported by a comprehensive report. Hi Kent is a local charity supporting the deaf and hard of hearing. There is an online shop, a display of aids etc to try at their centre at 46 Northgate Canterbury CT1 1BE and at Park Mall Ashford.

is a charity that provides a free confidential lay advocacy service, an advocate being one who pleads, intercedes, or speaks for another. CROP is supported by the Kent County Council, East Kent Health Authority and Maidstone Borough Council.

Kent Benefits Partnership
​
The Kent Benefits Partnership is a service provided by the councils in Kent to ensure that pensioners only pay the council tax due and no more. Up to March 2005 more than 1000 pensioners have received, on average, overpaid tax of £700. Members could be paying too much if they pay council tax AND claim a state pension AND have less than £16,000 in savings. 'Tell Us Once' - How it could help you
​
A new service called 'Tell Us Once' has been introduced in England, Scotland and Wales which helps you tell the government just once about a person’s death. When someone dies, there can often be a number of government departments and agencies to notify. For example, a passport or driving licence may need to be cancelled, or benefits stopped. The ‘Tell Us Once’ service is designed to make things simpler for you, by helping you give this information to government only once. The link is :
